Local Author - Peter Youds

Local author Peter Youds talks about the vital contribution of women to the war effort in 1940s, notably in feeding the country, as featured in his latest novel, “A Garden Waltz”.

Set principally between the Edwardian period and the Second World War, A Garden Waltz tells the inspiring story of a once beautiful estate – brought low by the indignities of time – being coaxed back to life through the redemptive power of love and friendship. At the heart of the action are five generations of women who, in their different ways, cherish the place they see as magical. Against a backdrop of warfare, hardship and industrial discord, the protagonists fight their own battle to save the place they hold so precious.

Tickets £5. Available from Long Acre Arts on a Monday morning, between 10am-12 noon, Wednesday evening between 7pm and 9pm (during the Hobby and Craft night) or pay on the door on the night.

Doors Open - 7pm for 7.30pm start. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
